The Clarence Valley

The Clarence Valley is with out any doubt the agri-food powerhouse of the NSW North Coast.  It has the largest number of primary producers (1000), employs the greatest number of people (1182), pays the highest wages ($51 million), and has the greatest output with ($438 million), and whose export earnings are the highest ($296 million), and imports are the highest with ($126 million).

The Clarence Valley is home to one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest Macadamia farm, Australia’s largest Organic Turmeric farm and home to the largest combined offshore and estuary fishing fleet in NSW. Clarence Valley Food Inc (CVFi) is committed to ensuring our region has an effective and united voice to support and nurture the growth of traditional and emerging commodities.

The Clarence Valley Agri-food sector has a long held tradition of underpinning the economic, social and cultural fabric of many rural villages in the Clarence Valley community.  This farmer lead agri-food collaboration is a platform for regional commodities to unite to amplify their position to increase their competitiveness. It will increase farmer profitability and jobs in the Clarence Valley which will have a significant and positive impact on the local economy and also provide other benefits to a region that is struggling with unemployment and mental health.

For this reason, it is important we have a plan to drive future growth and a vision for where our primary industries are heading so future generations can prosper.
